About the project: The Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal project comprised the replacement of nine dangerous rail level crossings with five elevated railway stations along one of Melbourne’s busiest transport corridors.

This innovate project transformed an extensive tract of land within Melbourne’s metropolitan zone into a new linear park.

Overview of the project: Cassaform were engaged to provide engineering design, certification, and supply of a modular formwork system to form the realigned section of the Caulfield to Dandenong railway to facilitate the existing level crossing removal.

The Cassaform P300 Modular Formwork System used had to be fast, lightweight, and cost-effective forming 200m sections of a 10,000m segment. Given the speed, z-ties were omitted with bespoke engineering solutions which also provided certainty that works would be within tolerances and to the safety required by both our client and the principal contractor.

The project was completed ahead of schedule to the client’s satisfaction.
