St John of God Hospital CSSD Expansion – Aluminum Prop Case Study

About the Project: St John of God Hospital, Geelong – CSSD Expansion is a $5m – $10m project currently under construction. It has two predominant stages; The new expansion followed by the refurbishment of the existing Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).

Overview of the project: The new expansion involved the construction of an additional two levels and plant room above. This required the existing structure be back propped strategically to accommodate construction loads which would have otherwise exceeded the design capacity of the as built structure.
Cassaform were engaged to supply lightweight props that suited the design specifications. They also needed to be delivered easily into the basement of the hospital, with consideration of a 2.1m clearance and installed by hand. This was achieved using our adjustable Aluminium Slabprop.
