Bridge Abutments near Cooma NSW – Case Study

Cassaform were engaged to design and supply formwork systems for the construction of the Bridge Abutments near Cooma NSW to replace the old Timber Bridge.



Overview of Job: Just off the Monara Highway in NSW a new bridge is being constructed over Scott’s Creek during the drier, warmer months of summer, in preparation for next snow and winter season.
Key Features: The project required the formation of RC Abutments on either side Scott’s Creek to withstand 1000kN of lateral water/debris pressure. Scott’s Creek is small catchment area which serves the McLaughlin River.
Product used: Cassaform P300 wall system and our SGB Walers as supports to pick up the upper abutment.
Cassaform’s involvement: Cassaform design and supply formwork systems to aid with construction of the reinforced structure.
